Central, IA | We have a wheel machine and have always ran a laser on it. I have mounted GPS on it in the last to record the placement, but usually just set a 10’ offset on a tractor receiver and drive next to the line after it’s installed.
I would bet even if you did install it, you would use it in constant grade mode anyway. Surveying lines at 3mph would get old quick. Not to mention how much the machine bounces when going over bumps.
I really like plowing laterals with GPS, but I’ve never felt more confident with it over a laser system. The gps systems have taken some of the art out of tiling, and its not necessarily for the better. | |
