6R tractors do not have a way to export GPS speed out of that 7 pin plug, only radar. Unfortunately the only way to make this happen is to run the cable they are speaking of. Ag Express makes one a lot cheaper, that’s how I have hooked up several 6R tractors pulling planters with 250-350 monitors.

Yes, the original post about having to go the GPS receiver would be correct if GPS was needed by another device. The 250/350 planter monitors have no knowledge or use of GPS. They need a speed signal which is likely available at that 7 pin plug.

When we installed Ag Leader displays in a Deere tractor with Deere GPS, it was necessary to get the GPS signal to the Ag Leader. It did have to come from the GPS receiver on the cab roof and run down into the cab. If we were installing a Raven 440 or 250/350 planter monitor they only need ground speed. That was available inside the tractor in different places depending on the age/model of the tractor. GPS was not involved in those simpler situations.
