No they can’t. Hard enough to predict the weather here for one week ahead. Solar winds (radiation) is even harder.
I’ve been fortunate to see the northern lights several times in my life, but twice in northern Ontario, seen them fill the whole night sky hundreds of miles from the nearest town.
