| like mentioned before depends on solar activity. i live now at about 42 n. pretty far south for the lights. last really intense colored(reds, blues, purples, green) light show we had here was in nov. of 1991. lived for a short time in early '80s about 60 miles south of Arctic Circle in Alaska. During the dead of winter (very little daylight at that latitude), with clear skies, northern lights were prevalent but were for the most part pale greens and yellows in waves across the sky. Sounds like it would be a nice trip even without seeing the lights. Good Luck!! | |
