I don't believe that an upgrade from vista was offered and I am not aware of any current upgrade programs. When it was being offered you could upgrade from windows 7 to windows 10 but I don't believe anything else was offered.

System builder keys are available cheap on ebay but there are a few things that you should be aware of. They are good for one computer and hardware upgrades may cause the key to become invalid. Biggest concern with hardware would be if you had to replace the hard drive. It usually isn't a problem but I have heard that sometimes you can run into issues if you need to reinstall.

Other catch is that all you get is the windows 10 activation code. You have to obtain your own installation media. Windows has their own tool now that will download the installation files and put them on ether a DVD or usb drive.
