Southeast Colorado | Having gone through a disastrous wildfire last year..............we didn't really care if any media covered it or not. Kind of preferred they just stay away actually. I realize that our ordeal pales in comparison to the widespread damage this event is causing. When it came to getting any federal aid in our case..........the only thing we received was a $900 drought assistance payment due to lack of forage. This payment was available to anyone who had grass in the entire southeast corner of our State........whether you had a fire or not. The private donations we received from family, locals, and the good folks on here dwarfed anything the government had to offer. Which we are extremely grateful for. We didn't expect much from the govt and were fine with how that all shook out. | |
