I said a good vet. Not you and your hobby farmer vet.

Palpate is a lot more accurate than ultrasound on cattle that could have been bred anytime in the last 6 months . Infection are u kidding when it is dead it is dead.

Fact is your ultrasound advice is absolutely terrible advice in that situation.

You need a new vet oldtiger
