The New Orleans Police are far from perfect. There are several places in New Orleans that I would avoid, especially after dark. However, the police do a good job of keeping the poplar tourist areas safe and handling big crowds during Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, the Super Bowl and Conventions. They have security cameras in the poplar tourist areas and this really helps.
Would you take a High School group to New Orleans?
