Franklinton, LA | I am glad you had a good trip and made it back home happy and safe. I think staying in a hotel on the West Bank was a good idea due to safety and cost. We started carrying our two sons to NO when they were 3 and 6 and then to their first Mardi Gras parade when they were 9 and 12. For the past few years our sons have been carrying their children to parades.
Apparently the tour organizers did a good job of planning the trip. You really did a lot in a short period of time. If you had made the trip 2 weeks earlier the band could have marched in a Mardi Gras parade. About 90 years back my father marched in some Mardi Gras parades with his school band.
I appreciate your posting the information and photos. I have been wondering how the trip turned out.
