OK, here's the fix. You won't like it, but it will work ... did for me. Remove the Linksys and put in box Put box in closet Go purchase a D-Link router and install exactly as the directions say (I believe it will tell you to install the software BEFORE plugging it in) Life will be wonderful. I wanted a wireless router for my system using Wild Blue as my ISP. Bought a Belkin, worked OK for a day, then got flaky. Mentioned it to my WB dealer. He said "Went to Wally World didn't ya?" He said he has tried every router he can find (and he specifically mentioned Linksys as well) and the only one consistently working for him is D-Link. I installed a D-Link DIR-615 Mine has worked for several months and not missed a lick. I can use my laptop anyplace in the house, the kids can bring their laptops home and use them. I think they are even connecting through their I-phones. (Don't ask, it is over my head)
BTW, I've got a gently used Belkin wireless router I'll make a deal on.
