Related, but not highly IMO. The way a calf is built has more to do with how easily its born versus its weight.

I like my heifers to have calves that weight between 75-85lbs. I find they are much more vigorous in this weight range. 60s are ok, but much below that I've had more trouble keeping them alive. My cows I don't worry about to much.
