West Central Missouri | Hey everyone,
I am looking at planting a small field into alflafa. I have no experience establishing alfalfa and am wondering what seed varieties everyone likes the best? How do you prepare your field and in general how how much and what type of fertilizer are you applying? I understand there could be a huge variance in ideas and best practices of doing this depending on where you are at. I am in west central Missouri. If anyone doesn't mind sharing, what is a rough cost per acre in establishment? I am planning on doing soil tests in the field to know forsure what I need to put down, I am just looking for a general direction to know what to expect.
