Sw mn | We just moved last summer and had to fold our King in half. Our hallway was about 28" wide and made a 90deg turn in the middle. With only about five foot of overhead clearance. The box springs went out a window along with most of the upstairs furniture and materials. But the king bed was to big to fit out the window. So we just folded it in half with three ropes around it. If you use straps just be careful on where they are since the metal can really dig into the walls. I just used a rope with a double truckers hitch and can get a rope as tight as a rachet strap. When we went down the stairs we also had to bend the matrice in about a 90 to make the corner. And yes the matrice or work bench still works and is the same as when we bought it.
