Subject: RE: Daylight savings again

Manitoba, Canada
Not many support it around here either. It is a bit different for us farther north though. Around here with DST in effect in the summer in the middle of June the sun rises around 5:20 am and sets about 10:40. If we were to be on regular time it would rise around 4:20 and set around 9:40. Being farther north the twilight periods before sunrise and after sunset are longer as well. If we stay on regular time it would be fairly light outside by 3:30 am. A lot more people would make use of the extra hour of daylight in the evening than so early in the morning. That is the reason that I would like to stay on DST and if that is not going to happen then I would rather keep switching than to stay on regular time.
