We are in an area with high lime water. About once a year we need to de-lime our power washer. Does anybody make a filter or device to de-lime the water?

If not, it was suggested that we put in a water softener ahead of the power washer. Curious for those hat have done that how big of a softener you put in for a 5gpm washer and much softener salt you go thru. We wash a fair amount of equipment and semi trucks, soft water would be nice, but it's probably cheaper to de-lime once a year than buying softener salt. Curious what others have done that have a similar situation. Thanks

Water softeners about 400 bucks. Bag of salt about $5. My softeners metered and one bag of salt will do about 5000 gallon of water. Yours will vary depending upon the hardness. It has been so much better you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner
