SC MN
Don't know of any filter to remove lime except a softener. I just put a new one in the house. Our total hardness is about 24 grains, and I installed a 48000 grain capacity softener. It has a flow meter and it will produce about 1500 gallons of soft water before it has to recharge. If your washer uses 4 gallons a minute that would run it for over 6 hours between softener recharges. You'd have to make sure that the softener has enough flow capacity for your washer.

A bonus though is that soft water will do a better job of washing, and if you have an office in your shop, soft water is nice for washing clothes, showers, etc.
