North Central Illinois | What? Mostly it is caused by a decline in the number of farmers. There are way fewer farms and farmers than there were in 1970 or 1980. Fewer farmers equals less need for goods and services in rural communities. A lot of small towns have become bedroom communities where people want to live in a small town but work somewhere else. I don't see how that is the fault of the government. | |
