West central Ohio | I can't, for the life of me, figure out why anyone stores hay/ straw outside with no protection. Note, I have no numbers to back this up, but I would think the waste/ loss of quality would easily pay for a cheap shed or hoop structure. Not to mention the headache of getting the net off in the winter.
Corn stalks, on the other hand are a different ball game especially after last fall. Shelled a lot of 18% corn and after a week off decent drying weather the standing stalks were still a bit green and when you broke them off by hand, juice would still run out. Can't put that inside without a fire. | |
