Ridgway, IL | Shipped 1 load 2 days ago 800lb contract at 140-142 leaving here. Another load goes this coming Friday. Have the 5 wts coming next week. At 16x. That swap isn’t favorable but I feel like the cattle set to leave here should make money and the cattle coming in should as well. Summer feeder board it seems like a good price to me. I need to sell on any strength. Feed costs are starting their seasonal declines locally. Sbhp,cgfp, wet feeds, all seem to have dropped 25% in the past 3 wks.
Need to sort and get some more steers out of here, only got a few contract loads left. We have a bunch to ship over the next 45 days so I will be in the cash market. Pen of fat heifers too, I’ve been worried about them not being fat enough with the wet winter weather. Even in buildings hasn’t seemed like they performed as well as they could. I had contracted them for April. They’re swelling up lately though, I think we gonna be alright. | |
