Mid-Michigan | I don't have insurance either. I'm also not against it. I've looked at it and don't exactly understand all the options. From what I could ascertain though, based on what yield records I have (not all that comprehensive), rarely would I have collected any insurance. Too much rain is rarely an issue and when I get too much tile takes care of it before damage. Preventative planting hasn't ever been an issue. I have never not been able to plant a crop. I guess right now I am concerned about my wheat crop but it's only 200 acres and not a complete loss (I'll plant corn or soys if it a failure). I guess it all depends on a guys ground and individual circumstances. I have no moral objection to insurance unless its fraud. I suspect some of that is going on. | |
