Van Meter IA | Had one cow with same symptoms about 2 weeks ago. Acting goofy, getting her head shoved through the fenceline bunk cable and stuck, corners of fences etc. Vet came and gave a pretty hot dose of pen G, vit B complex, dex, and one other antibiotic. She ended up dying. Had another one this week, almost acted like a stroke, right ear drooping, drooling, went blind quickly in her right eye. I treated her the same way less the dex since she hasn't calved. I don't think she will make it either. We are leaning toward listeria. We had been putting all the cows in the barn with a loader bucket of silage every night and think maybe those 2 had gotten a pretty big load of some rotten stuff. We put them in with a bucket of hay now, | |
