That is an earlier D-4 Cat as others have said because of the fender mount fuel tank. Later Cats had 1/2 plate fenders rather than stamped lighter gauge fenders.
Edit to add. I am wrong on it being a D-4, I think Now_What pegged it by identifying where the track frame pivots.
The later U series first came out with the lighter gage fenders then the thicker fenders came out in the mid 50’s.
The fender tank was an option until the series was discontinued... it’s in the parts book as an option and the last ones built came that way from the factory. Interesting note the first D2 sold and the last one were only a few miles from each other. |
