I can only add what we heard at a oil meeting a the case dealer by a viscosity oil rep. While he of course said their base oil was better, he said that the specs that everyone lists they meet is the base oil only. The additive package that does much of the work is for the most part proprietary to the person selling ie. jd. case etc. Even though he was promoting case oil he recomended jd oil in green equipment and case oil in red equipment because there were many specific problems in each brands machines that were largely fixed by certain additives that the specific brands oils carried and gave us several examples of addititives that hytran carried for a specific reason in a couple of models of older ih tractors.
