Subject: Question about Outback E-drive on JD 8770?

South Central Kansas, Harper County
Am comtemplating going with an Outback E-drive system on my old JD 8770 tractor. I have an E-drive in my JD 7800 and got along fine, even when planting! Plant with 12 row, harvest with 8 row header, and I had no problems. I have a JD ATU that I had been switching between my 8770 and my JD 4710 sprayer, but most of the time I left the ATU in the tractor and used an Outback S2 unit for spraying. I can better utilize the JD ATU system if I kept it in the sprayer, as all I use the larger tractor for is planting soybeans and/or wheat with my 1890 air seeder.

For those of you that have tried the Outback E-drive with the older JD articulated tractors, has it been adequate for planting wheat?
thanks,
Jim
