We have 3.73s in two semis with double overs on tall 24.5s (11R). They are something like 1600 at 75mph. I wouldn't mind going to 3.55 on the one semi

I had one that had 3.54 rears and tall 24.5 tires. And I hated it. Would not pull in high gear unless you were running 75mph. Any little hill and it would slow down to 65 and the engine was turning 1300 and needed to downshift. Maybe it was just me. It was impossible to cruise at 65 because the engine was too slow in top gear, too high in direct for best fuel mileage.

I have one now and the only difference is 3.90 rears and it pulls much better, but the engine does run a little faster. Pulls better in that 65-70 mph range with much less downshifting. Suppose I give up a little fuel mileage though.
