IL | Had a 60 water heater quit the other night, and just had to replace the fuse. Because of its age, decided to replace the elements, thinking that’s what caused the issue, as it blew the fuse last fall also, in the process, after throwing the box disconnect, then u screw the fuses for safety, noticed the 30 amp screw in fus was very hot to the touch.
I replaced the elements, and put a new fuse in, but am concerned. Thinking may need a whole new box, as it is about 60 yrs old
I’ve left a messsge with our electrician to have it checked.
