South Central Iowa | We need to. Regardless of the trade outcome, that country is not going to be upping their consumption of soybeans for a couple years anyway. Our inability to stop growing ever larger yields and damaging ourselves necessitates that acres go down. The acres won’t and we will grow another massive crop again. It’s just what will happen, period. I can’t fathom how anyone who has watched the USDA the past several years could conclude anything but this crop will be trend or better; conditions and weather be damned.
There is a recession coming in 2020-21. We will hurt alongside it worse in the beginning. That recession is not Trump’s or Obama’s or anyone’s in particular; it’s going to be a result of our asset inflation and tech bubble. Be prepared to ride our sub $3 and sub $7 for a year or two. Equities loss will still be our gain though as it settles out; before that though,
