The majority of my fields are north/south or east/west planting. I use the A+heading function. Set the point A, set the angle (0deg is north, 90 is east etc.) and you're set. Name the line something specific so you always know which is the right one in case someone creates one for tillage or something else. I download into SMS and put the plant line under the "No Year" so it cannot be overwritten or confused with a randomly created line. Sorry if that's only clear as mud...
