Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Although this doesn't necessarily help you this might explain how this can happen.

Part of this has to do with how the data is handled. As you are harvesting, the system is collecting the moisture, raw weight, etc. The raw data is being saved to a file which should be able to be transferred to a memory stick. This file does not really contain the computed yield but the raw point by point data from which the yield etc can be calculated.

The display uses these raw values also and makes several calculations to give you the instant moisture, yield etc and make the onscreen map. This is what you see while harvesting and what you can still see if you look at the display today.

If something goes wrong with the process of saving the raw data or being able to transfer this raw data to the memory card, you won't be able to read the file into the computer. If you are able to get the raw data into the computer, the computer program calculates the yield itself based on the raw data. This is why it is possible to use a different calibration on the computer than was used in the combine.

Both results start with the raw data, the result you see in the combine is created at the time. The results you see on the computer are calculated independently from the raw data and calibration values at the time it is processed by the computer. The problem of getting it on the memory card can be due to several factors. The raw point by point data is possibly lost if it was not correctly written to the internal data file while harvesting. Another problem might be in transferring that raw data to the memory stick due to a problem with the stick. Why it seemed to work for some areas and not others is perplexing.

The early Ag Leader displays did not have enough capacity to store the point by point data so they had to have a memory device in them while harvesting, the raw point by point data was literally written to the memory card while harvesting. The newer displays have much more capacity and can hold the point by point data and then write it to a memory stick at a later date.
