use the bracket that is recommended for the 8000T series. You cut thru the plastic and it is mounted to the metal part of the column. will still fit on all 8000 series. Don't know why Trimble doesn't recommend that one to start with!


Here's how I did it on my 8310. Carefully remove the plastic and make the notch as shown in the picture. The bracket then bolts securely to some bolts underneath the plastic. Becareful with the plastic as I broke one of the tabs in my haste.
