Well I guess I showed my ignorance and how much I know about silver paint! Lol
Wow that sounds like quite a project, have fun with that. Similar thing happened on mine. A family member replaced the sieves and took the gearing apart and when they put it back together, the left side wanted to got forward, while the right wanted to go backward. Thankfully Dad heard all the noise it made when I went to cut and stopped me before I wrecked everything back there. I'll stick with my ol faithful 2388, we've been thru thick and thin together. My little brother keeps trying to convince me to get an r62. I've found 3 over the last year come up for sale around the Spokane area for less than $10k. But I haven't caved yet :-)
