Southeast Washington | Hot and dry and I don't think there is much difference. Doesn't do anything for dust that I can remember. We started with an impeller in an R52. Worked fine while hot and dry. Problem was cool weather and tough pea vines. They came out long and ropey. After 3 years with an impeller we put in a chopper to help chew up pea vines which it did. It wasn't a fine cut chopper or anything so never really noticed much difference if you pulled down the stationary knives when cutting wheat. Depending on variety lot of the straw is chewed up just going through the rotor before ever getting to the chopper or impeller. | |
