If I am understanding this right, you need to show that you own the gun, right? Is the bill of sale not good enough?
For legality purposes a firearms transfer by a licensed dealer to you may be what you want to do. I did that last summer. My second cousin and I are close, despite almost 50 years difference in age. He's almost like a grandfather to me. He had a couple guns he wanted me to have and that's how we did it, just had a FFL holder make a transfer to me. | |
