Negligible difference, and likely the least chance of health issues. People will argue it either way, But it can be the easiest way. The only real issue is keeping the cow off you while you do it. It takes less than a minute to do, so even if you're calving 50 a day, time isn't a factor.
Sure is nice in the fall running them thru and knowing you don't have to deal with any castrating.
