I used to avoid "Ad's" also, thinking they were untrustworthy. Now I know they aren't because we use Google Ad Words for work, and the ad links are just the company paying Google to ensure a prime spot in search results. Things I have learned even in the last week about Google ads is that if our ad comes up in search results, and someone sees it just in the search results, it costs about $.11. If someone were to click on our Ad, then it would cost us approximately $1.20, depending on the time of day and what other companies we are up against for ad placement. That's not to say that hackers don't pay for ad placement as well, but Google does review and approve all ad's before they are visible to the public to hopefully rule out the legit from the scammers.
I did I quick search on mapance.net, but all I could find was a page saying it's too new of a website to know if it's a scam threat or not.
