| johnny skeptical - 1/2/2019 10:07 I like that gate setup, gives a lot of pen options. The only thing I wouldn't have is that bottom angle iron, looks suspiciously like a modern hog concepts gate. Maybe it being galvanized it'll be different but in our experience the angle at the foot rusts pretty quick and becomes weak, and is just about impossible to repair "in situ". Also the underside of the angle packs with manure and takes some extra time to get it cleaned out.
What is the reasoning for using angle iron on the bottom of the gate?
I've never seen that before and I don't think I'd want it. Can't think of one single positive for it but can think of several reasons why I wouldn't want that.
Doesn't look like it would be conducive to fast/easy gate building or fixing either. Looks like it would necessitate more fixing though.
