Iowa | We have a windrowing stalk shredder we use when we bale them. We cut the wrap off and bucket them into a vertical it really doesn’t process them any further I don’t believe. Cows eat about 10 lbs a day just fine our bunks are slick every night. Sometimes you have to cut the stalks back on the heifers and sometimes cutting the feed back on new heifers for a day or two when we transition from grass to stalks will usually eliminate the sorting problem.
