It's kind of a goofy setup but you have to take the tension off. After you install the new chain, it needs to be tightened until there is a 3/16" gap between the tube on the adjuster and the bracket the long bolt goes through.
Once you do one the rest will come easy. All you need are a couple of 15/16" wrenches.
