East Central Saskatchewan | Yes I know exactly what you mean. Skid steer is hands down better on the post hole auger with no argument. Maybe if you could find an older skid steer for now then trade up later (it doesn't take a lot of hydraulic capacity to run an auger) and get a good bi-di as well for a good price. I have a S630 and I like it, but I put a lot of hours on mine and I don't anticipate you want to spend 50k on one, but I would be sure if you look hard enough you could find a good 763 or 863 (maybe even a S185 if your lucky) skid steer in the 10k or below range in good shape. I used to run those back in the day and they have been proven to be a reliable machine. If you didnt happen to get a skid steer you could probably get everything set up and rent one for a few days to do fence, you can get quite a few holes drilled in a day if everything goes good. |
