SW Ohio | The coyotes around us tend to be rather bold. Several neighbors have lost smaller dogs to coyotes. We have had three coyotes within 15 ft of our house that treed a cat. Our two English setters were outside barking and raising cain in between the coyotes and the house. Didn't faze the coyotes. The adults that run around here get to be a well fed German shepherd size. Definitely larger than our 50lb house dogs. The younger coyotes will run from the dogs but it seems like the older coyotes stand their ground and tease the dogs. We do not wait to see where that goes before calling the dogs back.
Just remember.... they are harmless and are not pack animals**. | |
