SWC TX | We are drilling 2+ mile laterals here in the Permian. You start to push the limits of your tools going out much further than that.
You optimize long laterals where you have adjacent sections or half sections that you own the rights to. It saves you cost of having to drill the straight section of the well twice. It also increases your ultimate recovery volume per well because you have more formation exposed and thus more recovery on a 2 mile vs 1 mile lateral.
