Reno Co KS | The wheat planted around the 1st of October looks good but I wouldn't call it great. Then it rained and rained. Followed by colder weather than usual. The wheat we planted around the 1st of November has yet to emerge... And there is ground that is so saturated that it won't go until next spring or more likely summer. The water table is up high enough that i now have a few streams in what were gullies in feilds. So, the stuff that is up should be fine but there is a lot of wheat that isn't up.
I took a sample of milo to the coop today (milo isn't drying out too, even after 2 hard freezes, around 17 moisture) and there were still guys getting fertilizer and drilling wheat. | |
