From what I understand, CWD can be killed by cooking but, you would need to heat the steak to 800 to 1000 degrees. CWD is apparently some pretty tough stuff. To my knowledge, CWD has not infected a human. Could be just a matter of time though. As I understand it, CWD has infected macaque monkeys in a lab experiment. Lots to learn about CWD.
