The fellow that owned a tavern near here would do up the backstraps on the grill. Never charged for them, would just bring out a plate and say eat up. Some of the best I have ever eaten. Not sure what he used for seasoning, but darn it was good. Place is closed up now, a new home for some meth heads. (insert sad face here)
