Two part question.

#1.   Son (10yrs old) wants a computer to use for gaming and school.  He is buying it with his money and looking to stay around $300.  We have a monitor for it already.  Farming Simulator is the main game he wants to play.  Would like to hook to internet eventually but as of now we only have wireless at the house.  Ebay refurbished is what We plan on buying.

#2 Next we are looking to get a laptop for quick books so my wife can use it in the office or take it home.  Will be also used for internet.  

Im looking for recommendations on what we need to have on these so we dont have to replace either computer for a while.
