I would look for computers that have sturdy cases if you are looking at laptops, it seems that the life limiting thing on most of the new computers is how long you can go without having the plastic components on them break. As far as performance goes, just don’t get some netbook or something that has no computing power. Then it should serve what you want to do for many years to come.
