NE MO & W IL | No you did NOT figure out test weight today. If both fields, varieties, whatever have identical yield.......then the same exact pounds came off said acreage. In this case, 280,000 lbs. Field or variety A fills up a 5000 bu bin to the full mark. Field B, with the same 280,000 lbs at 60# test weight does NOT fill up the 5000 bu bin to the full mark. But both bins still have 5000 "bushels" in them. Test weight is a volume measurement people. Yield (lbs) is a scale measurement in POUNDS. Wow, I don't see how so many do not get this.... | |
