I have a 2006 base model Polaris Ranger 500 with an aftermarket plastic roof. I wouldn't be able to raise cattle as I do without it. A simple single cylinder machine. All I do is put gas in it and change the oils and filters. It seats 3 across with seatbelts and carries reels of wire, step-in posts and tools along with steel t posts and about anything else. It's much lighter than a pickup, has lower pressure tires with more footprint than a pickup. I like the light but strong plastic tip up box. Great ground clearance and ride on rough ground with 4 corner independent suspension. In 4wd it will pull logs out of the woods. It will do 40 mph on our UTV-allowed road between farms. The idea that you could use a pickup fixing fence when a tree gets blown down on it in a far corner of the woods or drive even a small pickup on our super saturated wet clay pastures is just wrong. You'd need the Polaris to pull the pickup out when it gets stuck!
