That's the only time I've run into that particular issue. I know with the FM-750, there are different software levels that you cannot skip. But, I think you may be on to something. The NAV controller is something that gets pretty regular updates around here.....or I don't see them for years. So, it's likely this one may have been the first one I came across that took a major leap in software levels.
