I spent a lot of hours in one of those(well, it seemed like a lot of hours when you are 12). I really liked those combines. Perfect for a 4 row head(although I had dreams of hanging a 6 row on it). Fuel efficient and fun to operate. If it is in decent shape, i think you will really like it. $2000 does sound a bit steep though, not sure how many of them are up there, but I bet you could buy a combine and corn head for that money in the right place. I wish you were closer, my dad has a 4400 diesel and 443 cornhead sitting there not getting used he would probably sell.

$2k steep on just the combine, or combine with head? This one is prices at $2k for combine with head. My only concern would be getting it the 90 miles home.
